20th annual Banned Books Day Vigil

Donation protected
As champions of the First Amendment, specifically the right to freedom of speech, the University of Toledo Banned Books Coalition is asking for your help.

In honor of our 20th anniversary of hosting this vigil, we will be bringing in special guest speaker, Jack Lessenberry, to address the attendees of a special 20th anniversary celebration event taking place the week following the vigil.

Lessenberry has devoted his career to helping the U.S. keep the right to read and think freely. The battle for the First Amendment is never won, but Lessenberry is the warrior we need to finally win that impossible battle.

It is our hope that by raising this money, we will be able to ensure this special celebration runs without any issues and everybody who attends has a wonderful and insightful experience.

We hope to reach our goal of $1,200 before the mid-September and would be so grateful for your generosity. Without donations from organizations and individuals like you, we would not have been able to put on such a successful event over the last 20 years.

Donations of at least $5 will receive special recognition at the event via an honor roll display as well as a certificate and bookmark.

If you wish to recieve a certificate with your donation, please contact Paulette Kilmer at [email redacted] with your mailing information!

Thank you again for taking the time to visit our fundraising page. We certainly hope to have your support in championing for the right to freedom of speech everywhere.
