2019 NAHJ San Diego-Tijuana Scholarship Campaign

Donation protected
UPDATE:  We are thrilled to announce that we have reached our $2,000 goal. A big thank you to all of our generous donors. Your contributions will help support San Diego-area journalism students.

Our campaign is still live and every donation from this point forward will go towards sending a deserving student to the 2019 NAHJ conference in San Antonio.

From the NAHJ San Diego-Tijuana chapter, gracias!

Dear journalism supporters,

Thank you for your consideration in supporting aspiring journalists.

With your help and generous donations, we awarded $1,500 in scholarships to San Diego-area journalism majors last year.

Jasmine Bermudez, a senior at San Diego State University, was awarded the 2018 chapter scholarship for her outstanding work. Jasmine says the scholarship helped her pay for graduation fees (yes, graduation fees are a thing!)

Brenda Gregorio, a journalism student at San Diego State University, used her scholarship funds to help pay tuition fees.

As we prepare for our 2019 scholarship fundraiser, we are accepting donations to help us reach our goal of awarding $2,000 in scholarships!

Please consider donating. Your kind contribution will help local journalism students continue on their path towards graduation and ultimately get them one step closer to becoming a working journalist.

Our scholarship program is open to all college students in San Diego County and Tijuana, Mexico who are currently pursuing a career in journalism (TV, print, radio, digital, and photography).

Scholarship winners will be announced in early April with an awards luncheon scheduled May 11.

The NAHJ San Diego-Tijuana Chapter is one of 30 chapters nationwide working under the nonprofit National Association of Hispanic Journalists organization.
