We're organizing the 2018 Charlottesville Classical Guitar Festival & Competition to spread the beauty of the classical guitar in Charlottesville and Central Virginia. Guitar students and young professionals will benefit from the competition, workshops, masterclasses and concerts that will be offered by our top guest artists. This is our 2nd guitar festival and it'll be dedicated to female guitarists, so all the guest artists performing and teaching will be these women:
Krystin O'mara (USA): http://krystinomara.com
Emily Shaw (Canada): http://www.emilyshawguitar.ca
Candice Mowbray (USA): http://www.candicemowbray.com
The guitar festival's website is www.GuitarCharlottesville.com. You can check there all the details about the 2018 guitar festival & competition, what we did last year in the 2017 guitar festival and our concert series. The festival will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at The Haven (112 Market St., Charlottesville, VA), so we need the funds by September 29 to cover all expenses.
Your support will help us get the Charlottesville community interested in the classical guitar and help students get better by committing to practice for the competition and the classes.
Your help will be greatly appreciated and as an exchange we'll give you entrance tickets to match the amount of your donation, so that you come and bring your friends. Our expenses are:
Artists' fees: $1,300
Venue rent, lodging, printing and miscellaneous expenses: $1,400
Competitor's prizes: $775
The organizers are volunteers, so they're giving their time and expertise freely
Total expenses: $3,475
This is the full schedule on Saturday, September 29, 2018:
