ACM Grassroots Scholarships

Alliance for Community Media Foundation's Grassroots Scholarship Fund supports the travel and education costs for community media producers and staff who can't typically afford professional development.

"Keeping up with trends in video tech can be a challenge when working full-time, so I was excited to see that the conference provided opportunities for technical discussions regarding the development of drone use by public access TV stations, as well as addressing other tech trends, such as the popularity of the Minecraft. I had my first experience using a pair of virtual reality goggles at the conference."

"I had never been to a national conference before because neither me nor my station could afford the cost.   The Grassroots scholarship  was the only reason I was able to attend and learn so much. "I learned so much information (fundraising, better understanding of PEG fees, board development, playback equipment, etc.).    In fact, I still refer to my notebook periodically when I need an idea, or, motivation; and, I’m quickly reminded how

We want to send two people to the ACM National Conference in Baltimore MD this July.  Scholarship winners will be from small towns and small organizations across America that can't afford travel and education - and they'll be young and emerging leaders who want to shape community media operations in years to come.
