City of Bridgeport OK's Fencing at Central, denies any funding.
Identical to last year...we're on our own. For over 15 years, Central High School, Bridgeport, CT has had a thriving and competitive High School Fencing Team. Last year due to sweeping budget cuts it was almost cancelled. Because we created a self-funded “can do” model, the City expects us to do the same this year. The alternative; Cancel fencing in Bridgeport High Schools.
Here we go again.
Each year, over 50 of our City’s student athletes get a positive influence and develop a significant purpose and belonging as a result of the rewards of our Fencing program.
We ask (again), if you would give - if you can.
