Send Jessa To Project Trauma Support

Hey folks, Along this mental health journey, I’ve had a lot of good help. A place that has helped me and so many others dealing with PTS/OSI is an organization called Project Trauma Support. They’re based in Perth, ON and they’ve now helped over 350 first responders and military personnel/veterans regain some hope in their fight against this injury. Project Trauma Support’s Cohort program is a 6 day residential, experiential program that helps a group (usually 10-12 men or women) begin to heal together from the effects of trauma. Participants are invited to get back in touch with themselves, with nature and they get to start feeling like they’re part of a community. There is good funding coming in for military and RCMP members but sending first responders is a challenge. Provincial workplace and private insurance boards can be very tough to work with when it comes to dealing with mental health. There’s someone very special to me and a lot of people that I’d like to send to a Cohort. Her name is Jessa. Jessa is a Registered Nurse that works in Corrections and she is an all around awesome person. Jessa started coming out to our Ottawa peer support group about a year ago and within a few short months, has become one of our best facilitators (a group “leader” of sorts). Most people that lead our groups have been through the program in Perth and I was absolutely amazed to see Jessa so willing to step into a leadership role within the group. Jessa has become such a good support and friend to so many and I’d really like to show her our support back by helping to send her to a program that can really improve the quality of her life. Jessa was there and continues to be there for our community. It’s going to take this community to give her this gift. Let’s do this together! Thank you for your time, Rob P.S.
