Cure For My Cancer

Well, I suppose I should start with an introduction. My name is Abraham Cherrix, but my friends call me Wolf. I live in a small town called Floyd, which is in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

I'm 22 years old and I have Hodgekin's Disease (a cancer of the lymph system). Some of you may have heard of me, I was fighting for my rights to choose treatment back in 2005 when I was first diagnosed (Google my name for more information on that).

It's been a while since then, and I've had many forms of treatment. Radiation (four times) and chemotherapy (twice) have both been unsuccessful even if they were initially effective. The cancer itself has been in remission six times, and I've somehow managed to keep my body in decent condition by building my strength after every treatment.

Despite keeping positive and fighting for my life, I find myself in the same position yet again. I learned today that the cancer has returned to my left lung, explaining a long series of events leading up to it (coughing up blood, shortness of breath, difficulty sleeping, chest pains etc). Now that it's more aggressive than before, I don't feel like I have much time. I need to act fast and I'm limited with what I can do.

I have some treatment options that I could pursue and things I could do to improve my condition or even help cure me, but they're expensive and not covered by my medical insurance (Medicaid/Medicare). I need supplements to boost my immune system, while seeking out doctors country-wide for different treatments and opinions. I need better food that I can't afford, and I want to move out of my trailer and into a clean house. Most of these costs thousands of dollars alone... and I'm barely able to afford a ride into town for grocery supplies.

There are actually a few specific treatments I'd love to start with. Heated needle therapy is a good start, and something I've been curious about. Studies now are also showing the validity of Hemp Oil as a cure for cancer, so I'm trying to get into one of the research groups. However if I can't get into these groups, the expense will be monumental and certainly not covered by my insurance.

My plans are simple for now. I need to move out of this house, it's too dusty and moldy. I need a small second-hand car to get to my appointments, and then I need gas for it. My income is at $721 a month ($325 goes to my rent, $76 for my electricity, and then whatever is left for food, supplements, house supplies, gas for my mother's car and sometimes even medicine or medical bills which reach into the quadruple digits).

I've never been one to ask for money, instead I'm usually the one giving. Then again, my life has never been threatened too much. I've never felt the fear of death staring me in the face, or the loss of hope pulling me down when I realize that I could have saved my money and had a better chance at surviving. For this reason, I humbly ask for your help. Please give me a chance at life, without financial assistance there's truly nothing I can do but sit back and watch it pass me by.

My name is Abraham Cherrix, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please feel free to contact me, I'm open to any information you may have about treatment options or research. If you have suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
