Damien’s studies of Psychotherapy Fund

My story is a story of love and reconnection. I started my journey with therapy three years ago. I was totally lost and disconnected from what, during that time, I called “my dysfunctional family” and thus I was disconnected from my own soul. The challenging process I had begun was to make peace with all of the past stories of suffering that had happened to me when I was a child and teenager, and to calm and nurture my hurt ego, which was creating so many barriers and struggles in my life, in order to be happier, more relaxed and in harmony with both my family ties and myself. At this time, I was presented with the opportunity to participate in a Family Constellation Therapy training (also known as Systemic Constellations or Systemic Family Constellations). I didn’t necessarily have the money to pay for the training, however, the school was kind enough to offer for me to pay by exchanging services and work that would help benefit the school. I gladly accepted. I then completed the Family Constellation Therapy training with at least 400 hours of participation. This included so much digging and delving deeply into my cellular memories which had been creating so much anxiety and stress for me. At the end of this journey, I felt deeply motivated to share what I had personally experienced because of the tremendous healing it brought into my life. I truly felt that I had to share all of the results with others in order to help them heal from their own suffering and that has lead me to the huge decision and desire to become a holistic therapist. These experiences have definitely led me to my most recent life path and greatly inspired my idea of offering therapeutic workshops which combine my artistic talents as a photographer with the therapeutic exercises I learned during my many years of training. This has served me well and continued nurturing my journey to becoming a therapist. This path has now led me to wish to further my educational studies with a more formal therapy training program. Therefore, I have chosen to pursue a Gestalt Therapy program in which I will become a licensed and trained Gestalt Therapist at a school based in Tarragona, Spain. Training to work as a professional therapist is exactly what I need to continue my spiritual journey and to continue healing many scars that remain open in others. This program will truly give me the necessary tools and knowledge I need to be exactly the kind of professional therapist that I plan to become. I had been accepted around a year ago and have registered to the program which starts in January 2020. But, unfortunately, many financial issues surfaced in the last year and have compromised the likelihood of me starting with the school this coming January. I may have to postpone my studies until next year or even more but before doing so I thought I would share this fundraiser with you because maybe there is a chance that with a little support I can still make this happen now after all! This is for a three year psychotherapy program which includes a psychotherapy and costs €1860 per year. I really only need help for this first year because I have made very specific budgeting plans for the future in order to be able to handle the cost of the two remaining years. In the meantime, I plan to continue learning as I do with firsthand experience through readings, video conferences and face-to-face meetings with people because it is the cornerstone to mastering all of the processes of guided healing.
