Help for Earthquake Stricken Southern Philippines

Donation protected
On 29 October 2019 at 09:04 AM, a 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck the municipality of Tulunan, North Cotabato, Philippines with a tectonic origin. The earthquake was also felt in the neighboring provinces of North Cotabato. The death toll stands at 22, plus 400 others injured and over 24,000 displaced. More than 188,000 people have been affected bt the calamity. Almost 21,000 homes were destroyed and another 7,200 were damaged. Thousands of people are in desperate need of assistance. Government, NGOs and church leaders/organizations are responding to the needs of these people but are still looking for ways to deal with the present problems. The Franciscans in Southern Philippines are now mobilizing and joining with the Archdiocese of Davao and Kidapawan and other religious groups to respond to the needs of the people. They are appealing for financial support for our brothers and sisters who urgently need relief goods/food, drinking water, hygiene kit, tents/tarps, and medical and psychological assistance. It’ll be a long and complex process of recovery but with coordinated efforts through your support/donation, it is possible! Any amount will be of great help to these people! Thank you! May God bless you for your generosity!
