1st Year Teacher Classroom Expense

Hi, I am Tanisha and will be known by my students as Ms. Branford in a few short weeks. I recently graduated from Columbus State University with a 3.74 GPA in early childhood. I have landed a job as a 5th grade teacher where I will teach an awesome group of eager learners.
I am raising funds for our classroom (see the very last picture below to see our empty classroom) so that these students may have the tools and resources that are necessary for them to reach their maximum learning potential.
My goal as an educator is to promote and enrich students' desire to learn by creating a positive classroom learning environment where students construct new knowledge through authentic, innovative, and inquiry based learning experiences in our 21st century classroom. As many of you know, educators don't make nearly as big of a salary as we know is deserved. In my case, I am a first year teacher and unfortunately shiny, new teachers have to start from the bottom without a paycheck and build a wonderful new classroom full of resources and tools that will stimulate new learning!
Our classroom will need the basic necessities such as pencils, pens, paper, notebooks, books, shiny, new markers, clip boards, white boards, crates, plastic cabinets/shelves, etc. But in order to enhance our learning even more, I am interested in purchasing new flexible furniture to stimulate my smart, brainy students. Flexible classroom seating furniture eliminates the traditional classroom atmosphere and arrangements and incorporates a classroom arrangement that is conducive to learning. This is because students are allowed to choose a place where they learn best whether it be on a bouncy yoga ball, a sofa, a rug, a spinning chair, a chair, or maybe just a simple wobble stool. Any donation to this fund would greatly be appreciated and will be used to help build the future for these fantastic fifth graders and our classroom! I am looking forward to a successful school year!
