Tatar Heritage Association and Russian Australian Representative Council are happy to announce the biggest SABANTUY festival ever held in Sydney!
Sabantuy is an annual summer festival celebrated by Tatar, Bashkir and other ethnic groups in Russia and around the world.
This year the big celebration is coming to Sydney! Instead of making it a ticketed event, we will offer free entry for everyone to enjoy traditional food, songs and dances, market stalls and kids entertainment!
We are also inviting Russian, Bashkir, Turkish, Uzbek, Kazakh, Uyghur and other groups to participate in the concert and the food fair!
The money raised will fund the organisational costs, such as venue hire, equipment hire, permits, insurance, etc.
The donors will get special privileges during the event (we will announce those in due course) as well as a free Tatar national meal.
Apart from the crowdfunding money, we have also secured a small government grant for the event. Sponsor contributions will also be part of the event budget.
We truly hope that thanks to donations from all over the world we will make Sabantuy-2019 in Sydney a memorable event!
