“I won’t be defeated.” In 2014, when Emma was 37, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, resulting in her having a double mastectomy to reduce any future risk. Following an incredible recovery, she’s getting payback and is ready to show cancer who’s boss. She has identified areas where she can help others and that is her mission.
My charity is trying to gain its accreditation currently. But if this does not succeed it will remain as a CIC. I have 3 community interest exercise classes for cancer patients current and past. Following a successful free pilot, I would use the funds to continue the provision for the attendees and hope to expand.
The charity launching will look to fill gaps in treatment and transition for cancer patients.
Currently there are a myriad of treatments that are off limits for cancer patients which isolates them from society.
Provision of a handy man, gardener, cleaner plus clothes that fit, trichology, nutrition, exercise. Massage. Hypnotherapy and counselling to help come to terms with life changes and for confidence. The list goes on.
Plus I am launching a new clinic to give opportunity to cancer patients to return to work in a new career, where they have an opportunity to give back to other cancer patients. Hence funds will pay for retraining courses and room rent to get them started.
