Hess Family Medical Setback

As many of you know, Jordan had a spontaneous pneumothorax about three months back resulting in an ambulance ride to Duluth, a lengthy hospital stay, and never-ending hospital bills. He was told while he was there that there was another surgery available to prevent it from happening again, but the surgeon suggested foregoing it because the chances of it happening again were low. He was cleared to work about a month and a half after the incident and just recently ended up on the oil rigs in western North Dakota. Well, Jordan’s slim chance of reoccurrence has happened. He is currently in the Williston, ND hospital with another pneumothorax and will be out of work for an unknown amount of time. After he has healed there he will come back to Minnesota to get another surgery done to prevent this from happening again. I have been staying home with Graysen to avoid childcare costs and spend time with him before Delaney makes an appearance in 15 short weeks. I did graduate with my practical nursing diploma in May, but with all the events going on in our lives as of recent I have not been able to take my boards and practice as an LPN. With this springing up, we have no where else to turn right now. Even if I were to start working full time immediately, we would not have even close to enough income to pay our monthly bills, childcare, hospital bills, and costs of daily living. We’d also like to have our family close while this is happening if possible and right now it’s a tough position for all of us. If you know us, you know that we have a very hard time asking for financial help, but at this point we have no other options to keep our house and our bills paid.
