Kilimanjaro Trek For Evie's Legacy

In March 2019 my beautiful Granddaughter, Evie, died - less than 24 hours after being diagnosed with Meningococcal type B. The devastation ripped through our family and changed our lives forever. It was compounded by the fact that Evie had missed out on being covered for this by mere months. Babies started being innoculated for this in September 2015 and Evie was born Oct 2014. This means there are a lot of children not covered for the disease that devastated us. My aim is to raise as much money as I can to create a fund that will pay for children born before January 2015 to receive the vaccine against Meningitis B. I want this to be Evie's Legacy. Each child needs 2 inoculations which cost £105 each in order to be protected. In order to increase the amount in the fund, I am signing up to trek up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania; Africas highest mountain at 19,340 feet. I will be doing this in August 2020. My dream is to get as many children innoculated as possible so as to reduce the amount of children most vulnerable to this deadly disease. I will be targeting low income families that could not otherwise afford the cost of this course. I will be really testing myself taking on this challenge in order to get children covered. I have just over a year to raise as much as possible and I am hoping to exceed this target and raise it. I am just an ordinary person trying to do an extraordinary thing and I hope you can help me achieve my dream.
