Joe Hewitt Needs A New Heart

Joe Hewitt is a pretty amazing guy. He has conquered lots of obstacles and now is faced with maybe the biggest one yet. Joe has cardiomyopathy and his heart is getting weaker and weaker. Which is ironic because any of us who know Joe Hewitt will tell you he has one of the biggest hearts we know. But the reality is, he is in congestive heart failure and in the hospital awaiting news about where he stands on the heart transplant list. This is going to be a long haul and he isn’t going to be able to work at all for the unforeseeable future. Joe and his girlfriend Kellie would never ask for help (they help endless people) but things are going to be strained for awhile. As stressful as this is, we at Be the Change NJ would like to take some of the financial burden off them so Joe can concentrate on getting a heart transplant and Kellie can be with him! Kellie and Joe feed the homeless EVERY week in our Operation PB and J and Joe is one of our Peer Recovery Coaches. These are such good people. Let’s open our hearts to them and make things a little easier. Any amount helps!
