Help Save Master Sergeant Matthew P. McBride(Ret)

Donation protected
51 year old, Retired Master Sergeant Matthew P. McBride is hospitalized, in Roseville, California and was diagnosed with end stage alcoholic liver cirrhosis, on March 22. He needs a liver transplant, soon. You see, you may not know it but organ transplant has a policy that requires a 6 month sobriety wait. This wonderful person, husband, father, brother, son, friend, soldier, leader, teacher, coach, who might not make it to the end of the 6 months, won’t get a second chance? A second chance to live a healthier life, a second chance to see his boys graduate, fall in love, get married, have children of their own; a second chance to grow old with his wife and rediscover just being themselves instead of Mom and Dad, and discovering what grandparenthood is all about. You see, when you are imposed upon with this 6 month wait, you then search for ways to bypass it; you want to save your loved one’s life!! There a few medical facilities that do not uphold this death sentencing policy. Matt has been submitting to a couple and we keep searching for others. Here’s why we need help. Matt’s medical insurance will only cover 50% out of his network. It also does not cover his medical transportation from California to whatever state he might be transported to. If he is accepted to one of these facilities Matt’s insurance will not cover more than 50%. We also want to assist his family’s travel expenses, so they can just focus on caring for Matt. Matt is married to Jen and has two sons, Jack is a college student, and Charlie, graduating high school this June.Matt has positively touched so many lives as friend, soldier, recruiter, coach for kids sports and just his smile can put you at ease. He will go all out for family, friends, and complete strangers; he’s that kind of person. In his families eyes and so many others, he is the true definition of a hero. Matt is retired from the Army after 23 years of service. He served a tour in Iraq in 1990-91. He has helped afford your safety and every day freedoms and rights. His current position is as a federal employee at the same MEPS station he retired from.Family and friends are doing everything they can to help Matt, but he needs to be transferred to an out of state hospital and it will likely be out of network. His family is feeling the financial stress and their focus should be on keeping his spirits up. Please help save Matthew McBride.
