Saving Breasts in China: Cancer Cure

We are raising funds to travel to FUDA Hospital in Guan Zhou, China to accompany a breast cancer patient who will be treated using cryoablation. This revolutionary technique freezes the tumor in the breast, eliminating the need for a mastectomy or lumpectomy. When the tumor is absorbed, an immune response to the cancer is stimulated. FUDA's doctors now amplify this response with immune therapy. This is resulting in many cases of cures of breast cancer, some in severe late stages. Our goal is to capture this story through video and blog posts to spread awareness of this amazing advance which is not readily available in the United States, even though it was first developed here by US researchers! Laura Ross-Paul is making this trip along with her son Louie Paul who is a filmmaker and will document the trip. Laura is a 10 year breast cancer survivor and the first woman in America to keep her breast and avoid a mastectomy using cryoablation. Our goal in this fundraiser is to let women know this treatment is available to them in China and piggybacks our creation of a non-profit organization, the Breast Cancer Freeze Foundation, which will allow people to make donations to send patients to China for treatment if they don't have the funds. Our long range goal is to bring attention to this treatment and to prod the medical establishment in the US to offer this on a wide spread, insured basis.
