El Salvador Mission Trip

Peace to you! I am asking for your support in a summer mission trip that I am taking with my youth group.

There are 8 of us from Communion of Saints Parish that are preparing to go to El Salvador next summer. I am really excited as we begin to prepare for this trip and I am inviting you to participate in our mission.

We will be spending a week in El Salvador in June with the Mission COAR. COAR (Comunidad Oscar Arnulfo Romero) is a development to the Cleveland Diocesan Mission organization whose mission it is to serve the people of El Salvador. We will be staying at the COAR mission site, which feeds, clothes, and houses foster and orphan children in order that they may grow through a healthy diet, education, love, and support. We will be teaching English to the students in the school and contribute to the loving presence and support that the children so desperately need. We will also visit some of the major Catholic sites in El Salvador, such as where Oscar Romero and other women from Cleveland were martyred.  It is an honor for us to reach out to those in need and truly live the Gospel while growing in love of God and love of neighbor. The experience will make us move beyond our comfort zones and see the diverse lives of all God's children.

I am seeking your help so that our Mission can be fulfilled. First of all, this mission depends heavily on prayer. Please pray for the youth and adults who will be on this mission trip, as well as the children and Salvadorians we are privileged to love, serve, and teach. Secondly, I ask for your financial support. I am so excited to go on this mission but I cannot do it alone.  While I recognize that although you aren't physically traveling on mission with us, you may be part of our trip through your prayerful and financial support.

It will cost about $1800 per person to go on this mission trip. This covers the expenses of all travel to and from El Salvador, and all travel, food, and housing and support accommodations while we are there.  Would you please consider supporting me and this worthy cause?
