Jay Miller is loved by so many for his kind and giving nature. He has supported those around him by being a caring friend, relative, mentor, colleague, safety manager, and so much more. Now, he is asking for your help.
As many of you know, Jay has recently become very ill and is currently fighting for his life. On February 1st of 2017, his family took him to the emergency room after Jay experienced a sudden onset of alarming symptoms. He was immediately admitted into The Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands, Texas. Over an 8-day period, Jay underwent a battery of tests including MRI, EEG, and Spinal Tap/Lumbar Puncture.
The team of neurologists diagnosed him with an extremely rare illness called sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease. This rapidly progressing brain degenerating disease affects only one person in one million each year. Sadly, it is incurable and within a matter of weeks has made a devastating impact on Jay's health. He has lost all motor function, including his ability to stand, walk, write and talk.
Friends, relatives, and colleagues: Jay is deeply concerned with the financial burden this is going to have on his wife Debra. You can help by making a donation that will be used to pay for medical and living expenses so that his family can provide him with the best care available and maximize his quality of life during this very trying time.
