The principal is a good idea but I'd agree with the naming issue - particularly with how we want to be presented as a club that, although always remembering our origins, is about progression about development. Right now the footballing world loves us but 10 years is a long time to non-womble fans and it wont be long before other people not attached to the club simply stop caring any more. If we're still seen to be "bleating" - as someone put it earlier - at that point then the reputation will be one more of impertinence. Instead of the suggestion given how about "The Nine Years Stand" ?

Is the suggested name really anti-FA? It's anti the 3 man commission, for sure, but who's worried about upsetting them? Anyway, I think it's a great idea and it says everything. We (and any club which is fan-owned) ARE in the wider interests of football.

I'm surprised people are worried about upsetting the FA - they destroyed our club! It's a bit like someone killing your wife and then you're worried about making a sarcastic comment back to them - grow some balls!

We have the Dons Trust if fans want to donate, the Fundraising group would be another. This is a commercial opportunity and should be put out to the business community. WFC ran in profit with out the fans our profile is much better. The point is we need to be more professionail. We need to think bigger.

I think the name is becoming a bit of a red herring to be honest! The point is that some fans used some initiative to find an easy way for fellow Wimbledon supporters to donate money to the club. If the name is an issue then Im sure it would be a hurdle easily tackled. This is all about raising funds for OUR club, its that simple!

Agree with Dean, the important thing is that this is raising cash and am therefore happy to donate. But I also agree with others that this might reflect badly on us, could the name be switched to something less antagonistic like "The WUP Stand" or "The Dickie Guy Stand"?

Its about time we grew up as fans and moved on 10 years, Its in the past, what we have is a great club who will grow if we learn to move on. be proud of what we are but what company wants us bleating on about how we where hard done by. I do not want us to keep bring the past up look at the future.

Don't like this idea myself. All of our bleating is slowly starting to piss people off. If we don't get the money we look stupid and if we do we look sanctimonious. Not for me thanks I agree with Mac.

Are we sure the club management don't mind this F.A. dig? Of course it backfires massively if the target is not reached. Would definitely want to help it get over the line

Alasdair - it's three months into the season and that stand isn't sponsored yet. It's not visible on TV, so what company would want to sponsor it?

Not a massive fan of this idea to be honest. Why don't carlberg re-sponsor? Surely the commercial team should be finding a brand partner. This is well intentioned i guess but feels a bit contrived and naff...
