16th and Tryon Street Bridge Mural

The mural project currently going up on the 16th and Tryon Street underpass in the North End neighorhood of Charlotte, is truly a beautiful picture of community togetherness. Brand the Moth has partnered with the North End Partners, The Men's Shelter of Charlotte, United of Carolinas and with the assistance of grant writer Anne Lambert and the CMPD, to clean up the area and create a beautiful and inspiring mural design on this forgotten underpass. We have been working tirelessly for two and a half weeks with the dedicated help of volunteers from the Men's Shelter, CMPD and local community. Initially, we recieved a small grant from the Unite Charlotte Fund, administered by United Way. Now at the half way point and this project has proven itself to be a larger undertaking than anyone predicted and we need help to finish it! Please help support this amazing community and all our incredible volunteers by donated towards final costs of this project. While we have recieved donations in form of time and Magnolia Paints of Benjamin Moore South End has generouly sponsored our paint, we still need remaining painting supplies and, the big one, a clear coat to protect our hard work. We hope to provide a small stipend for the gentlemen from the Men's Shelter who have labored with us for free, as well as a stipend for our lead artists who have been working 60+ hours a week (on top of other work!) to see this project through. The support of this community has been incredible, daily we hear gratitude from passersby expressing how much this project means to them. People who walk to work or to the Men's Shelter every day under a dirty bridge now have something to look forward to on their commute. By supporting this campaign, not only are you supporting the completion of an beautiful mural but you are supporting the men and women of the community who this mural will impact the most. We will be creating postcards of this mural once finished which we will send to all our generous donors. With the donation of $500 or more we will inlude your name (or business) on the postcard as one of our sponsors. Thank you for your support! We will be out working the next couple weeks, stop by to see us in action!
