On August 3rd Megan's husband attempted to murder her by setting her on fire. Megan has burns that cover 80% of her body at the young age of only 26. She will face many challenges on her road to recovery. She will have many medical bills to pay as she will endure years of countless surgeries. She also will need money for everyday necessities due to her being unable to work. Please support Megan and let her know that the community cares.

Death is nothing at all

I have only slipped away into the next room

I am I and you are you

Whatever we were to each other

That we are still

Call me by my old familiar name

Speak to me in the easy way you always used

Put no difference into your tone

Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow

Laugh as we always laughed

At the little jokes we always enjoyed together

Play, smile, think of me, pray for me

Let my name be ever the household word that it always was

Let it be spoken without effort

Without the ghost of a shadow in it

Life means all that it ever meant

It is the same as it ever was

There is absolute unbroken continuity

What is death but a negligible accident?

Why should I be out of mind

Because I am out of sight?

I am waiting for you for an interval

Somewhere very near

Just around the corner

All is well.

Nothing is past; nothing is lost

One brief moment and all will be as it was before

How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

Update 38

Hello to all of Megan's soldiers. I honestly never imagined having to come to all of you with such heartbreaking news but unfortunately this is the reality that Megan's family and I are faced with. Megan passed away this afternoon. We are so touched by all of you who chose to take the time to care for her. I can not explain how much it meant to Megan to have so many people in the world reach out and become so invested in her journey. I remember her eyes getting SO big when we would tell her how many people were praying for her. The greatest impact that we all had on her was the simple fact that we genuinely cared. I know that she will always be aware of the impact she also had on all of us. The last time I saw Megan awake I spoke with her about how many lives she had touched and how many more she was going to. Often we do not understand why the ones we love are taken from us but when we try to imagine if it were us that was being taken to heaven we might then ask what we did to make a difference in the world. Megan has made a difference and will continue to through all of us. Please carry her journey with you and share it with your family, friends and co-workers. Let us learn that no matter how hard life is we can still leave our positive imprint in the world. Megan's imprint is one that will forever be left on all of our hearts.
Before the support of thousands of strangers Megan had the beautiful support of her family and what I witnessed between her mother and her was simply precious. Megan's eyes were so expressive and the expression she often gave to her mother was one that said, "I adore you, I love you, and I need you." Teresa selflessly checked her own emotions at the door and did whatever Megan asked her to. She is a true example of a loving mother and I admire her so much. I know that the time they had together was a gift directly from God. Please pray for Megan's family to have peace and strength and know that we are all eternally greatful for your loving support.

Bracelets for Megan's boys-
I still have 257 bracelets that Johnson and Johnson donated to benefit Megan and I would like to sell the rest of them and put the funds into a trust for Megan's sons. The bracelets are still $5 and you can email me at Audreymay83@yahoo.com with your physical address after you make your donation and I will gladly send them to you. The other funds will be used for Megan's funeral, for family to attend her funeral ,and for her two precious boys.
XOXO, Audrey

My prayers go to Megan, her family and friends. I am a burn victim as well and know the emotional and physical pain that comes along with it. My burns were caused by electricity though. I hope your recovery goes well. If you even need a person to talk to who understands, feel free to contact me. I posted my FB personal and community page in a message to this pages admin. I am also the 2nd recipient of the Nations full face transplant. I'm not sure how extensive your burns are but if you want to go that route, I can get you connected with the team in Boston. Stay strong and don't give up, it does get better!
