The W. 1000 Adams Holiday Fund

This Holiday Season, the 1000 W. Adams Condo Association will once again establish a Holiday Fund for the building staff. Our staff help to make the Association a wonderful place to live and one of the best properties in the West Loop. We ask you to join us in making a contribution in appreciation of all of their hard work over the past year.

In an effort to provide further transparency on the donation process and modernize donations, this year the Association has setup a GoFundMe campaign to collection contributions from residents.
This improvement will allow residents to track the progress of the fund in real-time, eliminate the need to drop-off or mail checks, and expedite dispersing the fund before the holidays. Contributions may be made by debit or credit card (please note that GoFundMe does pass on a credit card processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per donation). The goal for the campaign is the total holiday fund collected in 2017.
The Holiday Fund will be distributed to the Association's staff members as allocated by the Board of Directors. The Holiday Fund will also be used to provide gifts (on behalf of the Association) to the mail carrier, delivery drivers, and garbage men. A breakdown of the gifts will be posted to the Association’s website (condomanagement.com and 1000westadams.com) after all funds have been dispersed.
Please provide a comment with your contribution if you feel a staff member deserves special consideration in 2018. All feedback will be shared with the Board in determining the distribution of the holiday_fund.
The standard recommendation from the Board for the size of contribution per unit is 25% of the monthly assessment for unit owners, and 5% of one month's rent for tenants. This is only a guide and residents should make any contribution they feel is appropriate. All contributions are voluntary. Residents may also choose to give to the staff on an individual basis if preferred.
Please submit your contribution by Wednesday, December 12. This will allow the Board sufficient time to distribute the gifts prior to the holidays. Late contributions are still welcome and will be distributed after the holidays.
