100 miles for the Satos!

Tax deductible
I have been a long-time advocate for the Satos, aka street dogs, of Puerto Rico.  I was lucky enough to have been owned by a Sato for 12 years, and directly involved in finding forever homes for dozens of others.  These dogs (and cats, aka Gatos) live on the streets at the mercy of their surroundings.  Many are abused and neglected, but despite these hardships, they make great family pets if given the chance.  After Hurricane Maria, as all of Puerto Rico still struggles to recover, the dogs need more help than ever.

I’ve committed to riding and running 100+ miles this year to raise money for Save A Sato, a rescue group in San Juan who has saved thousands of dogs and cats, including my Amy. Besides the basics of food and shelter, they provide extensive and expensive medical care.  Volunteers work tirelessly to care for hundreds of dogs and cats in their care at any one time.  Please help me raise money to help sustain their life-saving work.

In addition to their daily work, they are still recovering from Hurricane Maria and are in need of a new roof for the shelter with an estimated cost of $26,000!

Beginning May 6 and for the next 6 months through November 4, I will either bike or run a total of over 100 miles to raise money for Save A Sato Foundation, www.saveasato.org, and in memory of my Sato, Amy.  I have already completed the 40-mile bike tour across the 5 boroughs of NYC on May 6.  I will continue throughout the summer and fall with several other races including another 40 mile bike tour, two half marathons, several shorter races and end on November 4 with the NYC Marathon.  I will update my race progress, so be sure to check back for updates!

Please donate per mile, per race, a flat donation (or all of the above), whatever you can, to help Save A Sato.  As a registered 501c3, all donations are tax deductible.  Thank you for your support!
