Display the Past through Our Future

The Texas Prison Museum, in existence since 1989, offers an intriguing glimpse into the lives of the state's imprisoned citizens. The museum features numerous exhibits detailing the history of the prison system. The museum is frequented by a cross-section of the public, ranging from school students and tourists from around the world. Over 34,000 people visited the museum this past year. Due to the museum's popularity, it has been receiving many exhibits; however, they can't be displayed because of the lack of space. We need your help! The Prison Museum Board would like to raise enough money to add a 5000 square foot addition to the existing building. The additional space would be utilized to showcase more collections that share the history of the Texas prison system. The additional collections will expand history, understanding, and perspective of the system as well as provide educational and archival research for academics and scholarly writings.

The museum is registered with the United States Treasury (IRS) as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible. You will receive a donor contribution form stating the date and amount of your contribution for your tax purposes.
