Michael's Spinal Injury Recovery

On 11/12/2014, my son Michael was involved in an auto accident on his way to work. He suffered several broken vertebrae in his neck and an incomplete spinal cord injury. Due to Michael's level of injury, C7 incomplete, he is paralyzed from the chest down with almost full function of his arms but very little in his hands and fingers. His goal is to one day return to work, to support his children, and live a fully independent lifestyle.
There are very few therapy programs in the state of Texas that specialize in treatment and recovery of SCI.
However, there is REACT, previously known as Project Walk. This program offers
Nervous System Training
Load Bearing, Closed Chain Exercises
Gait Training
Strength Training
Balance & Postural Training
Functional Electric Stimulation (FES) Training
Range of Motion/Flexibility Training
They are making great strides in the recovery of individuals with Spinal Cord Injury.
This is an intense program and Michael is 100% committedto all it entails. Its also very expensive.
Individualized trainings sessions are $100/hour and all sessions are 2-3 hours in length.
REACT does not accept insurance but does have scholarship programs, once Michael has paid for a certain amount of hours out of pocket.
An incomplete spinal cord injury means that, with the right recovery program, the possibilities are endless.
Michael is a 20 yr old father with a long life ahead of him that he wishes to live, as his own.
Any money donated will be used solely for his recovery, through the REACT program.
I understand, more than most, how tough times can be. I have left my career to be with Michael full-time.
