John Sarro Recovery Fund

John Sarro and Jessica Lopez Sarro have been married since April 2000. They have 5 children between the ages of 12 years to 1 year old. Up until 2014 John worked two jobs to provide for his family and so Jessica could stay home and care for the children. Jessica started working outside the home as a full time nanny in Sept. 2014. John was then able work one full-time job allowing him time to spend evenings at home with his family. On June 25, 2015 John suffered a serious stroke caused by a blood clot in the rear portion of his brain. He spent 2 days in the ICU and 3 days in a standard unit at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, PA. He was released June 30, 2015. Upon examination and multiple brain scans it was determined that John has suffered multiple stokes and blot clots pointing to an underlying undiagnosed health condition. John is suffering from partial loss of vision in both eyes, memory loss, confusion and lack of co-ordination. He is unable to work. John is undergoing battery of medical tests and is being treated by several doctors to determine the cause of his abnormal blood clots. John has good insurance benefits through his employer which include health insurance for him and his family and includes short term disability. His disability however is only 50% of his normal pay which is not enough to meet their monthly expenses. Jessica is working part-time since John can not be left at home alone. They cannot pay their mortgage and their utilities are in danger of being disconnected. Their third child 7 year old Olivya suffers from Turner’s syndrome, a genetic condition that requires hormone injections daily. These injections must be refrigerated, so any interruption of their utilities would be disastrous. Our family is hopeful about John’s recovery and his eventual return to work. Jessica intends to return to full-time employment as soon as John is well enough to care for himself. Any financial help for the Sarro family during this time of John’s recovery would be GREATLY appreciated. We welcome your prayers. May God bless you all.                                                                                                                                                         Olivya Lopez - age 7
