"Zeus" The Siamese Kitten

Donation protected
Zeus is a 6 month old Siamese. Usually, you can find Zeus playing with his four other fur partners in crime. He loves climbing up my bedroom door and perching at the top awaiting a good chance at a sneak attack on the next clueless Human to enter. I have had Zeus since he was born. I took Zeus's dad to get fixed and decided I would keep a kitten.  Zeus has been a character from day one. He was born breech and not breathing. Fortunately, I was able to resuscitate him. Mom soon ran out of milk and he was bottle fed. He always managed to chew every nipple in half I put on a bottle. He also relentlessly used me as his human clawing/scratching pad.
So, I am a stay at home mom of four wonderul children. Ages 4 to 12. Many people believe Siamese cats to be mean and aggresive. I can assure you that Zeus adores his unfurry brother and sisters just as much as his furry family. My husband works as a car salesman and if you have ever worked and gotten paid based upon your monthly sales than you will truly understand that not all months are good ones. The last few months have been a struggle to make ends meet. So today I had to swallow my pride (for Zeus) and reach out to people that do not even know me. I completley understand if you choose not to trust my story. I know that there are people out there that make up the most heart wrenching stories for their own greed. But see, Zeus is fighting to stay alive right now and I am fighting with him and for him.
I believe it was Feb 19th when I noticed clear vomit all over my bedroom floor. I have 5 cats total so sometimes alot of vomit can happen. I then saw Zeus at the foot of my bed heaving his little heart out. He is not a very big guy to begin with. I decided to sleep out in the living room with him and keep watch. All seemed o.k. until the next morning, he was doing the same thing. I watched him as best I could. And spent just another night on the couch with Zeus to make sure he would be o.k.  But Saturday February 21st I was caught up that morning with the kids. My daughters 12th Birthday was just the day before, Feb. 20th and I had a lot of stuff to do the day after her birthday passed. When I finally was able to grab a moment is when I found Zeus laying in the clothes basket. I picked him up and just like that he was stiff, cold, weak, and severely dhydrated. I knew then this was not going to be good.
So it is saturday and I talked to my husband about getting Zeus to the vet. We had to both agree that we had no money for an emergency vet visit. For the past few months we could barely put food on the table to feed our family. I stayed up with Zeus that whole night and every two hours I syringed him water. But I started to notice that he was in alot of pain. With every sip I would give him he started to shake and twitch. He hunched up and got tight as a tick with pain. His claws actually held on to my fingers, I did a lot of looking that night online to see if there was any vet available non-emergency that was able to help Zeus. I found that PetSmart had a Banfield Pet Hospital open on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. I know that it was a long night and 10 a.m. could not come soon enough. Zeus fought so hard that night to stay with me. We made it until 10 a.m. and I called the Pet Hospital and they agreed to see Zeus that day. Unfortunately $295 dollars later, they could not diagnose the problem. I explained to them my financial situation. $300 was our MAX. And when I say MAX I mean $300 maxed out the credit card. So with many things ruled out to cause Zeus to go downhill so quickly I left broke and with no answers as to why or what was causing his pain and no fix. He was given fluid before we left and was due the next day to go back for more fluids but when I called instead of just getting fluid they wanted more tests done. Even after I was told the next step was to be an Ultra Sound by a Specialist which they could not provide there. The Vet on duty that day tried hard to accommodate our needs with our budget. So she sent us home that day on a hope and a prayer with an antibiotic every 12 hours and a nausea pill every 12 hours. She said to get Human Vanilla Boost and give him a tsp every two hours. I was hoping it would be the cure to this unknown sudden illness. I think she was hoping for the same. Sad to say Zeus is still fighting to stay alive and I have not left his side.
In order to keep him Hydrated I have given him Boost every 2 hours day and night and his meds at 2 p.m. and 2 a.m. on the dot. He still has no appetite and refuses to eat or drink on his own. I tried Gerber baby food (Chicken) but he has no interest. I do know that he threw up a piece of plastic a couple of days ago. I was so hopeful that him throwing that up would have been the fix. Now I am thinking I may have an answer to his illness (he has plastic still in him) but no way of getting the money together to get him an ultra sound and surgery if needed. I am taking a ball park guess at the cost. Honestly, I have no clue. It may be well over the amount I have listed or less. I just know I need to do something to help save him. This is our start and my attempt. My story is out here in the open for every one to see. I am not ashamed. We all fall on hard times. I am only ashamed that I have let Zeus down. I am asking for help for Zeus because he deserves to live. Please if you are able to help at all, would you? I would gladly keep you updated on him and give vet info if I get enough to take him for help. Please, I have no where else to turn nor does he. Help save Zeus.
