In Ansley's Memory

From CA Miljavac, aunt to sweet Ansley:

"I’ll be honest, figuring out what to say and how to describe little Ansley’s story for this page felt like such a daunting task. It’s hard to try and put her story, and everything she went through, and all the ways she inspired us into words. So I sit here with my fingers on the keys, in tears, staring at the screen with nothing to say, but SO MUCH to say.

April 1st 2014 Ansley Abigail Smith aka AA, went from dancing around, twirling her hair, cracking everyone around her up, fussing with and loving on her big sister, living the life of a carefree 6 year old; to living with tubes in her stomach, in her chest, having a trache to breath, losing her locks she loved so much, and spending most of her days in a hospital room sick from chemo.

It would be easy to focus on all of the bad days. Days of sickness, sadness, pain, frustration, and grief. But none of you would remember her that way. Because the entire year of her fight she never once failed to smile for a picture. She never once turned down a hug. She laughed at jokes, acted silly on the good days, prayed for everyone else. She prayed for all of the children at St. Jude. So you would never know her as anything other than sweet, loving, laughing, and smiling.

Ansley fought hard and many times proved that miracles do happen. She surprised the doctors over and over again. She captured the hearts of her nurses. She brought a lot of people closer together and closer to God. She reignited faith in our family.

At 10:30 a.m. July 7th 2015 AA took her last breath snuggled up in her mother’s arms and lying next to her father and big sister. She went peacefully surrounded by love. In the days before she made sure to let everyone know how much she loved them. She told everyone over and over again , “I love you so much.”

Ansley had lived 4 hours from home at St. Jude the last 15 months with her mother and father by her side taking care of her and fighting with her. Needless to say, they haven’t worked or had jobs during that time as every moment was spent with her. This page is set up to help them get back on their feet and pay for the funeral. Any amount is appreciated and truly a blessing. It can be $5 and it is truly appreciated. The family thanks you for prayers, love sent and all of the support. Ansley is in all of our hearts forever and we know she is in heaven dancing the streets in her crazy fluffy tutu, twirling her hair, and cracking up the angels. <3"
