Support Our Kermes

St. Procopius is an Archdiocesan Church administered by the Jesuits in the Pilsen area of Chicago.  Every year in August we have a large street fair in honor of the Virgen de San Juan de Los Lagos.  We serve great Mexican food and each evening we have a variety of music ranging from local DJs to different types of English and Mexican music.  On Sunday night we will close the festival with music from Los Cadetes de Linares, a very popular Mexican band.  Allport Street on the west side of the church is closed and people enjoy great food, beer, music and dancing. The dates for the festival are August 7-9: Friday from 5:00pm-11:30pm; Saturday from 2:00pm-11:30pm and on Sunday from 10:00am to 10:00pm.

All funds raised from the event go towards our social service department which provides emergency food to people from the neighborhood, a soup kitchen to those in need on Tuesdays, and clothes from our clothes bank.  Funds also help with scholarships for students in our dual-language elementary school.
