We end the funding campaign this week - give generously and help give back to the community and help people that couldn't normally take a yoga class - have an option! Love you all and don't forget to read my blog and add your name to the site for updates: http://yoga4agoodhood.blogspot.com
Hello everyone -
I haven't sent out a message in a while - but the project is still trying to move forward. Why not support a grass root project! Yoga 4 A Good Hood - make yoga accessible for everyone/ make our communities better
so its the birthday countdown... I believe so much in this project. Here is a little blurb to give you a little more info about Y4AGH - please support any way you can; in any amount:
As I have practiced yoga over the years, off and on, I have noticed the lack of people of color and persons of certain economic backgrounds accessibility to a yoga practice. For many within our communities, it is a practice that is out of reach and not in touch with the realities of what they are experiencing. Not only that, for many, they have expressed that they see no benefit in having a yoga practice because they have to go back to the hell of life.
As a woman of color, that comes from brokenness, experienced hardship and struggle, abuse and self degradation I understand the need for peace in ones life. Yoga has been an inspiration for creating a balance in my practice on the mat and off the mat. I strongly believe that bringing Yoga For A Good Hood into the city of Rochester will begin to address the issues of brokenness, hardship, struggle, abuse and self degradation and people will find peace within instead of always seeking something outside of themselves.
May 15th is my birthday - consider giving a gift to me through Yoga 4 A Good Hood ... I know, I know, I'm assuming your giving me a gift :) lol But even if that wasn't your plan - let's give a gift that can transform lives... even a neighborhood. xoxo
