Our 11 year old Norwich Terrier is a spunky fellow and has been The Boss at Mackie’s Parlour Pet Boutique & Spa, in Scottsdale, Arizona, since he adopted us as a pup. On Friday, September 4th, our veterinarian gave us the startling news that our Nigel has oral squamous cell carcinoma. We are devastated by the news. Nigel’s brothers, Sebastian and Cody (Norwich Terriers, too), both passed a few years ago… cancer as well.
According to our vet, the treatment for this type of cancer involves radiation and/or chemo, the estimated cost of which will be about $6,000. We find ourselves in a financial bind since upgrading our pet store business to include grooming. The unforeseen extra costs of fees, equipment and to meet codes really hit us hard. The burden didn’t improve and only became worse. We couldn’t get ahead and we made the difficult decision to close our store. As of September 11th, Mackie’s Parlour is no more.
We are doing everything possible to save Nigel and get him the treatment he needs, but we need help. Please consider making a donation to Nigel’s medical treatment. We will keep you updated with progress reports as we get them. Good thoughts and prayers are always welcomed, too.
