Larry Suratt Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Larry Suratt, from Mabank, Texas, was a devoted Grandfather, Father, Husband, and friend. On the afternoon of Monday, June 29, 2015, he took the time out of his day to cut his mother's grass. During that time, another unknown man entered the property and was told to leave by Larry. An altercation occurred, and Larry was run over by a pickup truck and a trailer several times.
Larry was merely defending himself and ended up getting hurt. The other man was arrested. An initial news report about the incident can be found on InForney.com here: http://inforney.com/crime/item/3325-kaufman-county-sheriff-s-office-investigating-shooting
Larry suffered a broken nose, broken femur, broken rib, broken pelvis, and other medical issues that required several surgeries. He had a few of these surgeries, yet on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, he died of complications related to these injuries.
Mr. Suratt was always been the type of person to give you the shirt off his back and be there when you need him. Examples of this included helping a neighbor rehab the entire inside of their house, including helping with the wiring and sheetrock. He had lent his only chainsaw to a neighbor when they needed one. The type of man you'd trust to watch your children.
After Larry's passing, his family needs our help, more than ever.
Larry was the primary bread-winner in the household, running a small business that required a lot of manual labor. The family will not be able to run that business anymore and take over for him. His wife has recently had some medical issues that won't allow her to work.
Our thoughts and prayers are Larry's family at this tough time. If there's any way that you can help donate to Larry's family with expenses (such as funeral expenses, etc.), it will be very well appreciated. Any small amount counts, and will go a long way.
Larry has done so much for us in the past, it's time for us to give back to their family, in his memory.
