Montessori Model United nations

Dear Family, Friends & Community Partners:

Through a partnership with Coastal Carolina University (CCU), setting a new record in our school's history, 17 sixth-grade CMCS scholars will compete in the 2016 Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) Conference in New York City, March 9 - 13th. Each scholar studies current global issues of significance with CCU students like child labor abuses, pollution, security, education and poverty, and developing resolutions that will be presented during the conference. This is the third year of a CMCS anchor activity that supports the Montessori philosophy of fostering global citizenship on a sustainable planet.

Each student is responsible for his/her travel costs. The estimated cost per scholar is $1,800. To offset this cost, the following sponsorships are available; however, any contribution would be greatly appreciated.

• Travel Sponsorship of one scholar ($500)
• Hotel Sponsorship of one scholar ($400)
• Meal Sponsorship of one scholar ($200)
• Conference Sponsorship of one scholar ($180)
