Bob & Ursula Cole Tornado Relief

Donation protected
At about 8:30 AM on June 22, 2015, Bob and Ursula Cole were in their rural Maynard, Iowa home when the property was struck by an estimated EF-1 tornado. Their home of 40 + years, where they raised 4 daughters and made countless memories with their children and grandchildren, was completely destroyed.

After being trapped inside, separated by the rubble that was once their home, Bob and Ursula were rescued by responders who were able to extract them through a hole in the northwest corner of the structure. Ursula was immediately taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein, but it became apparent that her injuries were too severe for the facility and she was quickly transferred to University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Injuries included complex fractures in both hips, a crushed vertabrae and broken wrist. After 5-6 hours of surgery and days in intensive care, Ursula is now on the mend as the family looks to move forward in the wake of the disaster.

This campaign seeks to raise funds to help offest the costs of medical bills, the displacement from their home, and the path forward as Bob and Ursula look to rebuild their lives together. Any support offered is deeply appreciated by them, and the entire family. Thank you.
