Hello family and friend’s,
On June 7th at 1:40pm western time, our dog, Lucy, was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene. Fortunately, we were there to pick her up from the middle of the road and drive her to the emergency room 30 minutes from our house. Unfortunately however, the hit left her with a subluxation in her front right elbow and a broken back right leg that required a metal plate, bone graph from her shoulder and eight screws for stabilization. As of now, we have spent over $7,600 and have missed five days of work as she needed constant 24-hour care during the first two weeks following the accident.
She currently has a cast on her back right leg and vet appointments scheduled weekly for the next four weeks for bandage change. After the four weeks, her leg will be reexamined. It is believed that once she is healed the total in medical bills will be more than $8,000 all of which, we have had to pay out of pocket.
To make matters worse, on June 27th we received letter that our landlords have decided to sell our house and that we will need to be moved out by July 30th. This gives us 29 days and counting to find a new place to live, pay first, last and a security deposit on a new place AND last month at our current location.
Therefore, on top of the $8,000 that we need to pay for medical bills we now need several thousand dollars by the end of the month so that we will have someplace to live. We currently have just dollars to our name.
