Help Brandon's Dreams Come True

My name is Brandon Gray. I am 18 years old and I am currently a freshman attending Towson University as a dance major. Dance has always been “my everything.” When I didn't have anyone or anything to turn to, dance was always there for me. Before I knew what ballet, modern or any other technique was, I would hear a beat and move to it. It didn’t matter where I was or who was around, I had to move. Moving to ANYTHING that I hear has been happening since I took my first breath into this world. I was more than likely dancing in my mother's belly.
It wasn't until the summer before my 9th grade year when I heard about Duke Ellington School of the Arts. I had never taken a dance class before but my passion told me to audition because this is where I knew I belonged. The next four years were the best years of my life! I did things and saw things that I never knew existed. Duke Ellington is also where I found my love for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. I first saw them perform at the Kennedy Center with my 9th grade class and I fell in love with them. Their movement quality and strength are unmatched by any other company than I've ever seen. My dream has always been to join them and immerse myself fully into the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater experience.
This month I am going to New York to audition for the company. I am so pumped but the trip New York is not free. A portion of this money will help me get there and pay the audition fee. Additionally, I will be attending this year’s Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive. This money will also assist me in buying food, dance attire, getting back and forth to class from my apartment, as well as help support my everyday living while there.
Your investing in me would definitely help to make my dream come true. I’ve been told so many times that I am destined for greatness. Sewing into my life will help me out on my road to greatness! Thank you for reading this and thank you in advance for your contribution!
