Camino de Santiago

So here's a bit of my story. I am an American trying to live out my dream of living in Spain. I have been here for seven years, and things have become quite difficult with the crisis and the difficulties of maintaining a visa here. I teach English to make ends meet, but the way my job is set up, I have to go from April until November without getting paid. I teach some private lessons to keep some income in, but it's not always the easiest thing to do due to cancellations and summer vacations.

During my first year in Spain, I visited Santiago de Compostela and heard the tales of the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage across northern Spain to the Cathedral of Santiago (Saint James.) (This is the Camino talked about in the Way.) I have dreamed about completing the Camino del Norte (Northern Way) ever since. This past year, I have managed to walk 11 days of it, from Irún to Laredo. What's keeping me back is a severe lack of money. Rent and bills come before my silly dream of making this sojourn. I would have some time to finish the Camino in August.  However, I just don't have the funds.

I keep a blog about my adventures in Spain, Set Meravelles , and if there is interest, I might make an e-book of my journey.

I would also like money to fulfill my other dreams of visiting every province in Spain and completing a master at the Universitat de València. However, one dream at a time. El Escorial wasn't built in a day.

Thank you very much, muchas gracias, moltes gràcies, eskerrik asko, graças, obrigado, grazie, merci, for reading this far, and if you decide to donate to help me out, even more thanks.
