BOAT FOR BRIAN
You may have noticed our fellow paddler Brian Tracy has been absent from the water this season. Brian has leg weakness resulting from a cancerous brain tumor. He started his therapy and remains inspiringly positive.
As many of you know time on the water is a spiritual experience and was a major part of Brian’s life before his illness. With the goal of getting Brian safely back on the water to relax and heal during treatment, we bought him a 2-person outrigger (OC-2) canoe. His current health is more amenable to seated paddling with a partner than stand-up paddling. With your help, Brian can be out on the water whenever he wants.
Thus far, we’ve gotten some amazingly generous contributions. Ozone Outrigger Zone discounted the boat (Tempest OC-2) and Kialoa donated two paddles. We want this to be a community gift to Brian, so please donate if you want to be involved. If we raise more money than the cost of the boat, we will give the surplus to Brian and Kim to help with medical bills and the coming little one. Thanks for the help!
