Rachel's Post Cancer Surf Challenge

Donation protected
In March of 2014 when I should have been stressing out about my upcoming 40th birthday, I was diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer.  Instead of fretting over wrinkles and grey hairs, I was left dumbfounded at how I could possibly have this awful disease. Cancer changed my life for the worst and then made me a better and stronger person than I was before. After the tough year following my diagnosis I'm now 9 months in remission, the chemo has finally wore off, and the side-effects are diminishing.

Now here is where I ask for your help. I've been lucky enough to get into a young cancer survivors surf camp called Camp Koru in Maui, Hawaii.  This program run by Athletes 4 Cancer provides survivors with the chance to challenge themselves physically while bonding with others who can fully understand what they have been through. While most of the program is subsidized, I do have to cover the cost of the flight. However, with the last year and half of medical bills I am fully tapped out.  I would be truly touched and grateful for any amount you could donate towards the cost of my flight so that I can attend this amazing surf camp. My trip is November 9-15th of this year.

xoxo much love xoxo,
Rachel
