As many of you know, Don Williams is one of the most incredible, kind, wise, funny, and compassionate individuals you will ever meet. I'm not just saying that because he's my Dad. He is my rock. He took on the role of being my father when I was around five years old---I couldn't be more grateful to have such a positive figure in my life. My Dad is a Fifth Grade teacher, a Tennis Teacher, a musician, and a lover of life. My Dad has touched so many lives, including mine and now we have an opportunity to repay our debts of gratitude to this wonderful man and help save his life!
This past week, my father was diagnosed with Stage Four Kidney Cancer which has metastasized to his lungs. The tumor is literally the size of a volleyball---it has engulfed his left kidney, it is pressing against his Aortic valve as well as other vital organs. He has lost about 20 lbs in the past few weeks because the tumor presses against his stomach which makes it difficult for him to consume large amounts of food. It is very difficult for us to see such a healthy man have to deal with something as horrible as this is.
We're not going to give up on my Dad! We are currently looking into several different treatment facilities in order to help him receive the best care possible. We have found several wonderful options, including facilities such as MD Anderson Cancer Center which is based out of Houston, Texas. We need help raising the funds not only for his medical needs but to be able to fly Din (his girlfriend) and hopefully myself out to wherever he needs to be while he receives treatment.
My Dad has a difficult time asking for help like this, but right now it is life or death. Any amount makes a huge difference--even $5.
Let's all come together and show my Dad how incredible we think he is and show him that we believe in his fighting spirit. Let’s fight this monster of a disease together! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
