Jenny Ryan & Family Medical Fund

Donation protected
This campaign is a joint effort by Abbie Rogers and Jessica Monk to raise money for our good friend, Jenny Ryan, and her beloved parents. The family is not aware that we have undertaken this effort on their behalf. We want to bless them in this time of suffering without them feeling the need to humbly refuse or feel any type of obligation to respond or act in relation to this effort.

On February 29th, 43-year old Jenny Ryan was taken ill and underwent emergency gallbladder removal surgery at Wilson Hospital. By the next day, she had taken a turn for the worse which turned into a rapid and serious decline. In mid-March she was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, in critical condition. She has undergone multiple surgeries and procedures in an effort to save her life.

Jenny is now conscious after having spent several weeks in a medically-induced coma as the doctors tried to give her body rest to fight a raging infection. Until the infection is contained, she cannot have surgery to repair the bile duct that has been poisoning her since the initial surgery. She is receiving daily dialysis due to her kidneys and bowels having shut down, among other major concerns.

Jenny's beloved parents, Jim & Carol Ryan have been by faithfully by her side throughout this ordeal. With Jenny having been transferred to Rochester, they are staying at a hotel six miles from the hospital and although they receive a reduced rate, the daily costs are mounting. In addition, they are paying for meals and travel expenses, as it becomes necessary to return home at regular intervals to tend to bills, family pets, etc. Both of Jenny's parents have been retired for many years and live on a fixed income. They each have battled their own serious medical conditions (during which Jenny has been an advocate and cheerleader for them, as they are now for her).

These are just the basic facts; undoubtedly there will be other major costs and inconveniences to this family as Jenny fights to recover. The doctors' prognosis at this time is that, though she is recovering, progress will be very slow, likely taking months. This will have a serious financial impact on the Ryan Family. They have not asked for anything; which makes us all the more dedicated to asking on their behalf. All they want is to see their only daughter healthy again.

Anything you can give to help with the mounting costs is so appreciated. The figure we selected is based on pricing for hotel accommodations, estimated meal expenses and fuel costs. Every penny will go to Mr. & Mrs. Ryan, keeping them by Jenny's bedside for the duration of her hospital stay and beyond, as we look ahead to her homegoing and the inevitable expenses she will face during the long road to recovery. In addition, there are mounting medical bills that will need to be paid. Although Jenny has health insurance, there are always things insurance doesn't cover, as we've all experienced.

We thank you for your financial support for this precious family and ask that you please share this message to get the word out about Jenny's condition.

Thank you so much.
