Dr. Sick BailOut (violin, car, etc)

Thank you for even considering to help me, whoever you are. Might I first say that I've never been comfortable with recieving help, or charity. Ask my Mom, she'll tell you.

For those who don't know me personally, My name is Sick, and i make noise. I talk as host of many Burlesque events, I sing and play, I produce, I arrange, I record.

But the main thing that keeps me creative is touring.

Some people are great at setting up locally, acquiring regional success with the comforts of home. I, on the other hand, have more opportunities by being more of a "special guest", an outsider, a novelty.

Which brings us to the point of this. I've recently gone through an overwhelming number and size of life alterations, unexpectedly and quite sudden. Some is private, and must be dealt with personally. Some will go away if I throw money at it. That's where you can help.

In a single week, I busted my violin, and later totalled my car in a rain storm. I need to play, and I need to travel, and I need to repair my body as well.

While playing with the prettiest New Orleans band I'm in, The Salt Wives, a speaker fell and permanently damaged my 1933 Czhech violin. It was a very untimely freak accident, and my instrument does NOT play the same. it was severly devalued, and i'd like to get it properly restored, which requires the complet edismantling of the body. I love it. It's been with me for years. That, or I may need to completely replace it, and keep it as a spare. The wood cracked, bad, it can't survive dry climates like Denver, Tucson, LA, etc...

That thing was easliy worth $4000. But really great for it's price range. The quick fix has already been done.

Then the accident. I haven't finished paying off the car in question. My parents found me a $3000 2004 Dodge minivan at an auction, I've put about $2000 into it. What with the extremely high rates of insurance in Louisiana, I only had liability insurance. luckily, there was no property damage or passengers.

Ugh. This is tough.

I was on my way home, when a down pour occured, I slowed down, but I guess not enough. I hydroplaned, lost control in a way I have NEVER as driver or passenger, went off the highway on the left side of the road, mostly sideways and backwards, down a hill (without rolling!) and into some woods, mangling and peeling off pieces of the passenger side of the van.

And nothing back from my insurance. A mistake I cannot afford to, and will never, make again. call it $5000.

Anyone who might have been sitting there would not be here right now, but I basically walked away from it relatively unscathed. I had glass shard slivers, a few bumps and bruises, and whiplash. The latter needs treatment, I have people who are recommending me to different chiropractors, because my legt leg goes totally numb sometimes, I have sharp pains, frequent headaches, and I'm generally crooked. Maybe $1000.

That's a very quick $10,000 hit. I'm not trying to make that back by simply asking. I just need travel for work and health.  I've never been so well recieved, and it's an honor to be producing records for the first time, traveling to different cities and continents for music and dance, and to work with such brilliant, amazing, talented, sexy, and real people.

One of whom said " Do the gofundme. It's not a hand-out - it's an insurance program you've invested in by being a positive influence in people's lives for years. Get the stuff replaced, get back to work!"

That's what's up. Thanks again,
love,sick
