Srapon Prom has become a good friend of mine, whom I was referred to by a good friend, and met during my time in Cambodia.
Srapon owns a Tuk Tuk and takes passengers to Ankar Wat - but he doesn't just do his job. He cares for people, bringing wipes and water free of charge. He is kind and friendly, and goes out of his way to help you learn about his culture and lifestyle. He even takes you to the most magnificent temples with the perfect timing - so you can enjoy it without the crowds.
When I was there, he took me for a private Siem Reap tour and showed me the land he had managed to secure. He was planning to build a home for his wife and his 6 children.

He has since built his home and owes $7500 on it - which he pays $350/month to pay off the loan. With tourism at a slow point, and Srapon not having many clients, he is struggling to pay and may lose his home. This is a man who works so hard, goes so out of his way for others, sacrifices everything to provide for his family. In the few days I spent with him, he made a huge impact on me, and I have kept in contact ever since - can we help him at all?
Shelter is a human need. It is needed all over the world, and people in countries everywhere are struggling. This is one time you can help and know where the money is going.
