Join me in helping Ali Daad,...

Join me in helping Ali Daad, a widowed old man living in Kabul, Afghanistan. With no other living relatives, and seven daughters, it’s up to Ali Daad to continue earning an income. He probably earns a dollar or two a day (100-200 afghanis), which is not enough to feed his family of eight. I’ve been sending money here and there to try to help Ali Daad out, but it’s not enough. I’m hoping to raise $1000 to send to him so he could retire, or one of his daughters could get an education and have a brighter future. Please donate now, spread the word, anything helps!

The summer of 2010, my family and I took a trip to Kabul, Afghanistan. The trip made me see life through a different set of eyes. I saw a lot of poverty there, I felt like doing something. The story of this man especially: Ali Daad.

Ali Daad is a very old widowed man, nearing 80 living in Kabul Afghanistan. He has a family of seven daughters, which is a blessing, but in Afghanistan, there are little to no jobs women can do. With no sons, or any other living relatives, Ali Daad has been working to support his family ever since he can remember. He can't stop working, or retire because his family would go hungry.

Coming back to the United States, I got a part time job and began sending about $50 a month to the family. $50 isn't much, but it was enough to ease some of the work off of Ali Daad and to tie loose ends. This made me feel like I was directly impacting this family. I was changing their lives.

I'm setting up this fund to continue to help Ali Daad and his family, and even other families if I could. I know we can't help every family in Kabul, but even helping a few would tremendously impact their lives. I'm asking you to please help me achieve this goal.
