- I decided to cut the dogs hair myself since the mats he came to us with were just not going away and he was so opposed it ended up looking like I sent him through the paper shredder. So I found a groomer in town who worked out of her house, had some local references and would clean up what I did at least and charge me less than $20 plus clip his nails.

Dropped him off. I told her he was scared and timid and had been abused and hurt before we got him, she said ok she would take her time. Almost 2 hours pass and when I went to go get him she opens the door and he is limp as a dishrag in her hands. She said he freaked out and was trying to bite her and so she gave him benadryl and he would probably be asleep for a couple of hours. I didn't like that she did that without asking but at that point I was just worried about how traumatized he would be. Also , he looked worse after she was done, not better.

Got home and let him rest but he was NOT waking up much. After a couple of hours I had to go make dinner and moving him made him squeal in pain. Tried to give him some kibble to wake him up and he would raise his head but never move his back end.

Groomer won't answer her phone as to what happened, and after 5 hours have passed I take him to the emergency vet. They don't know what is wrong with him. Benadryl overdose for certain, but they don't know if he has a spinal cord injury or what. He is there overnight on fluids to help with the overdose but I just called and he still has not moved his back end.

(hours later) - The vet is watching him for a couple hours. Right now he wants to see how much more this "overdose" will wear off . He can't diagnose the rest properly until he is sure if this decreased mentation is the drugs or brain damage from being strangled.

(the next day) - Was waiting for the call I just got from the vet to go to the police . Vet needed him to wake up so he could finish the exam and say without a doubt he was abused. He is awake now and further exam led him to do an X-ray and his back R leg is snapped in two right below the hip. It cannot be simply set and will need surgery . The ortho vet is out of surgery at two and will tell us more. If they can do it all in house they can help me with a payment plan he said although I don't know what kind or anything else. I won't know anything more than that until this afternoon late when the ortho surgeon has seen him.

Please, if you can help to donate to this family to help with the costs associated with the abuse thattheir poor dog suffered I would greatly appreciate it. I will be updating the site as I can to let you know how Bandit is doing and what legal actions are being taken. Thank you so much!
