Our Story
Hi everyone! Since 1979, the West Ward Cultural Center (WWCC) has provided various educational and community development opportunities to tens of thousands of Newark residents. Currently, we run a 90-child early childhood development program and a weekend community food bank program through a partnership with Table To Table, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that delivers perishable goods to organizations serving the hungry all across New Jersey.
How You Can Help
In the last couple of years, funding has been limited, especially for community organizations in the area. We are also behind payments and still have rent and utility expenses to be paid. With your donations, we will be able to continue to put food on the table for hundreds of needy, low-income families in Newark, New Jersey and in surrounding areas and provide our 90 three-year and four-year old preschool children with the educational tools they need to reach their highest potentials.
Without your donations, we will have to shut down our operations permanently, leaving dozens of our devoted teachers and staff members out of work and hundreds of families off to defend themselves and find other opportunities elsewhere. This is a family-run non-profit that was founded by my parents, Mr. Chester Brown and Mrs. Loucinda Brown. We rarely asked for much, but with your help, we can continue doing God's work during these crucial and uncertain times when quality social services are few and between for millions of Americans.
