Through its strong network of volunteers, donors, partners, and community stakeholders, the Austin Empowerment Coalition (AEC) strives to provide hope and direction to the lost, the left out and the left behind within the Austin community and the greater west side of Chicago. We aspire to do this through:
- Providing mentorship to at-risk youth in our community
- Creating an after school program that empowers a generation of young champions, expands their cultural awareness, and protects them by being a safe haven in the neighborhood
- Advocating for peace in our community by embracing anti-violence efforts and working towards creating an environment where public safety becomes the expected norm
- Addressing poor dietary and health habits and guiding people towards principles of a healthy, active lifestyle.
With these programs, the AEC resolves to provide a place where families living on the margins in Austin can receive guidance for their youth as well as other tools that will lead to their holistic empowerment and wellness.
