UPDATE: Now that we have reached our goal of $1000 for student scholarships, all extra money donated will go directly to helping put on conference and make it extra special! We are a non-profit. This money goes directly towards the conference and students.
Donations of $35 and over will still receive a Chapbook.
Donations will go directly towards funding scholarships. Donations of all sizes are welcome! A donation of $35 will sponsor one scholarship. All donors who contribute $35 or more will be gifted a WordSpring 2015 Chapbook. Please leave your address if you would like to receive a chapbook with your $35 (or larger) donation. Thank you for your support of the arts.
WordSpring, formerly known as WordFire, is a creative writing conference at Butte College, whose mission is to strengthen the community of writers both at the college and in the surrounding region. WordSpring seeks to provide a comfortable setting for new and seasoned writers to gather together to sharpen their writing skills, network with other writers, be inspired, and simply celebrate their love of the written word.
Fiction writers, poets, essayists and playwrights will find mentors and workshops to inspire their writing at the fourth annual WordSpring creative writing conference. The one-day event will take place at Butte College in the Learning Resource Center this April. Workshops in poetry, fiction, and other creative genres will be open to the public as well as to the Butte College community of faculty, staff, and students.
