Worcester Community Skateshop

The Worcester Community Skateshop (WCS) established itself in the summer of 2018 as a grassroots, cooperatively run skateshop and community organization, with the mission of making skateboarding more accessible, and cultivating a strong and active skateboarding community in Worcester, Massachusetts. We plan to have space downtown Worcester, where we can operate our shop, and offer free and affordable skateboards and skate goods. As we grow, we plan to establish different initiatives and programs that allow us to build community and organize through skateboarding. We want to build with, and support the strong skate community that already exists in the city, while pushing it to grow, and become more active and inclusive. 

Our official launch date will be August 24th at the Bloxx Party, hosted by 508Bikelife and Woorides on Portland St. We will be hosting a skate jam at the event, letting people know about our organization, distributing written materials, and hopefully giving out our first boards!

We are looking to raise money to:
1) Support the Bloxx Party costs for permits, food, and entertainment
2) Allow us to contribute to the rent in the space that Woorides X 508Bikelife has graciously offered to share with us
3)Allow us to pay fees to establish our organization as a 501(c)3 non-profit
4)Allow us to collect used and new skate goods in order to offer them to the community
5)Allow us to collect and build skate obstacles to be used for community events
6)Allow us to produce and distribute materials to raise awareness of our orgnization
7)Allow us to contribute to the efforts of Worcide DIY skatepark in building a new skatepark in Worcester
